BETTER HEALTH CARE FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES

New nursing stations to be built

Health services are essential for a vibrant nation and works are underway to make sure people get the best health services no matter where they live.

And to ensure health services are accessible to people in rural areas, Government will open more nursing stations and health centres.

The Ministry of Works, Republic of Fiji Military Forces engineers, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Provincial Development are working together to help make health services more accessible to people living in rural areas.

“We are working with the different government ministries and agencies to build a number of new nursing stations and health centres in the Western Division,” Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki said.

“This is apart from the upgrading of a number of nursing stations located in remote areas.

“That is our support to the delivery of health services for those living in rural areas in the Western Division.”

For the first time the government station in Keyasi (Navosa) will have electricity as part of the continuing upgrading works of government facilities around the country.

There is a nursing station and other government agencies based in Keyasi .
