THE smiles and friendliness of local people prompted a return to the country by tourists from Australia and New Zealand.
Australian business couple Mike and Pat Harsely returned to Fiji for the fourth time because of the friendliness of the people - and this time they visited Labasa.
"The people here are so friendly and warm รน they brought us back to Fiji," Mr Harsley said. "Wherever we go in Fiji, everyone we meet in towns or villages are friendly. "This is our first time to Vanua Levu and we just love the weather - the sunshine and beautiful skies are just so awesome."
Mr Harsely said such a friendly environment served well as a treat for business people taking a vacation away from home.
Peggy Doll, another Australian tourist, has also been to Fiji four times.
"I love the food, the culture of the Fijian people and their friendly smiles and that is why I have continued to come back to Fiji for my holiday," she said.
