The Bainimarama government’s commitment to remove systematic corruption will not be deterred by the noise making of one particular individual says Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
His comments follow the allegations made in overseas media by former Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption (FICAC) manager Legal Madhwa Tenakoon.
“Here you have people who have very unprincipled positions in respect of judiciary,” said Sayed-Khaiyum in a press conference this afternoon.
“Tenakoon was terminated by FICAC for non performance.”
Sayed-Khaiyum said the government’s position has always been constant, has never changed and is not going to change.
