Army retains Sukuna Bowl

Defending champions, Army have successfully defended the Sukuna Bowl Tanoa, the second year in a row, after they beat arch rivals, Police by 19-16 in the feature match at the TFL Stadium this afternoon.

Both sides were tied at 13-all at half time.

Land Force Commander, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga will be very thankful as he stressed to the boys at the Church service yesterday, that it will be befitting if Army wins.

The Police side will have to wait another year to try and wrestle the Sukuna Bowl Tanoa away from Army.

The Army side will have a thanksgiving service at Delainabua on Sunday.

The sides have a lot in common, Army captain Dale Tonawai and Police captain Jonetani Ratu both hail from the village of Lawai in Nadroga.

Police is laced with Nadroga players while Army has a majority of
Suva players.
