Miss Universe Australia excited to be in Fiji

Miss Universe Australia Scherri- Lee Biggs at the Fiji Fashion Show


Miss Universe Australia has called on people to support the work of local designers.

Scherri- Lee Biggs who's in Fiji attending the Fiji Fashion Week Event currently underway said she will take back the experience and good memories of the event.

Biggs also said people who want to take up modeling as a career need to be persistent since it can be tough at times.

Meanwhile, Managing Director for Fiji Fashion Week Ellen Whippy Knight said the local designers and models will benefit from the experience of working with the overseas designers.

Currently underway is the Secondary School students’ show, Pacific Island designers show at 2.30pm while emerging designers show will be at 7pm at Tappoo's city.

Kennedy walks away with best established designer award

Fiji's biggest fashion show kicked off with a good turn out last night with local designer Robert Kennedy walking away with the best established designer award.

Kennedy whose designs were inspired by the 1980 movie Blue Lagoon said he felt happy to have scooped the award out of the ten established designers as he only had about ten months to put his collection together.

He added that Fiji's fashion industry is looking very promising.

International designer Jerrel Scott said he was impressed with the work of the local designers and support from the people is really important.

Today, the Children's show will be held at 10am this morning, Secondary School students designs at 11am, Pacific Island designers show at 2.30pm while emerging designers show will be at 7pm at Tappoo's city.
