Tourist from Down Under - Bob has a message for You!

Bob the tourist

Samisoni Nabilivalu

HE arrived on the Dawn Princess earlier yesterday and says Fiji is nothing like its being made out to seem overseas.
The Fiji Times met Bob, 75 (who preferred to withhold his surname) in the Capital City. He was in the country for a day with his wife before the cruise liner departed last night.

"We're here just for the day and we're from Sydney, New South Wales Australia. Many years ago I came here on business," he said.
He said he had a social secretary who handled all his travelling matter hence his unfamiliarity with where the Dawn Princess was heading next but told The Fiji Times he and his wife were 'thoroughly enjoying themselves'.
"Suva is very good. We've been around the island here and the hospitality is great. I came here on business about 30 years ago and there have been a lot of great changes."
He described the weather in the Western Division as being very warm and said aside from that, the weather had been pleasant for most of the trip.
"We can purchase a lot of the things for sale here back home so I haven't been doing a lot of shopping. However, I have been doing a lot of sightseeing. I will be taking back some traditional handicraft and art though."
"I would say Fiji is very safe for the average person that wishes to come here and that they'd have no problems," he said.
