Fiji Broadcasting Commission TV - The way ahead for Rural Dwellers

Rural viewers admire FBC TV

As FBC TV continues to extend it's coverage nationwide many are making their appreciation known of the improved picture and sound quality.

Calls have been pouring in from as far as Nauluvatu in the interior of Naitasiri with villager Mesake Rasau saying FBC TV is clearer than anything he has ever seen.
Rasau says due to the location of their village - watching T.V has always been difficult, but this has all changed with the introduction of FBC TV.

He says they are appreciative of FBC TV as it enables them to watch whats going on around the world and they are now looking foward to the launch of FBC TV.
FBC Supervisor Transmission Reenal Chandra Deo says the much improved quality is because of advanced broadcast technology.

"That's because of the technology that we're using, it's more advanced and we are grateful that we have been given the opportunity to keep up with the technology and provide to the people who have not been able to view television in the past or who have been getting pictures that have not been up to standard."

FBC TV will be launched later this month.

It's high time Shortland Street went Off the Air!

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Television has sold over $100,000 worth of television programming, even before it has officially signed on air, as sponsors show confidence in Fiji’s newest television service.
Sponsorship of three major programmes has been purchased by Courts (Fiji) Limited, which has signed to sponsor Sesame Street, The Bold and The Beautiful, and How I Met Your Mother.
The CEO of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, Riyaz Sayed- Khaiyum says this is symbolic of what is to come on FBC TV, noting Courts has recognised the FBC as Fiji’s fastest growing media company.
“This goes to show if two great companies work together we can achieve some wonderful results. When the project is complete towards the end of the month we will cover over 90% of the population that is at least 700,000 people.”
Courts Director Marketing Anil Senewiratne says they have had huge success with FBC.
“In fact we had some great experience with you (FBC) we had the road show as well last year and this year and especially with Diwali we had some good sales coming onboard with you. I’m pretty sure FBC TV is going to be another success story in the FBC ship.”
